Spatial Analysis and Mapping in R Course
Day 1 - Vectors
Morning (9am – 12pm) Installation of additional software and accessing Dropbox materials (Optional) Introductions and welcome talk Getting started with R and RStudio; syntax, scripts and data handling
Afternoon (1pm – 4pm) Understanding and using vectors Combining multiple datasets and using external data Creating buffers and calculating polygon areas
Day 2 - Rasters
Morning (9am – 12pm) Understanding rasters Handling rasters
Afternoon (1pm – 4pm) Converting rasters Extracting values from rasters Workshop – Applying to your own data/using additional datasets
Day 3 – Spatial Analysis
Morning (9am – 12pm) Calculating MCPs, Kernels and LoCoH Hidden Markov Models/ EMBC
Afternoon (1pm – 4pm) Testing for for spatial randomness Using GAM visualisations
